There will be one trading area at this festival with a comprehensive range of haberdashery, fabric - original and contemporary with a vintage feel, dressmaking patterns, vintage sewing machines, knitting and crochet yarns and patterns, kits from our lovely workshop teachers and buttons galore!
The Festival of Fabric is going to be swinging away to the dulcet sounds of Vintage DJ Mr. Nigel Oates aka Muffin Man of www.jivebunnies.com Nigel and his lovely wife Gill teach Balboa and Swing workshops all over East Anglia as well as hosting lots of jolly good dances, fish and chip suppers, boat trips and 1940's dance weekenders - you name it, they host it. We are delighted they will be joining us againto help you while away the hours at the festival.
One of the main attractions of visitors to Felixstowe is the seafront, it is over 4 miles long with a wide promenade that stretches almost the entire length of the beach from Languard Point to Felixstowe Ferry. The prom is ideal for taking in the sea air and must have hosted thousands of prams wheels over the years. There is even a ‘pram walk’ so visitors can avoid steps and stairs and gently perambulate from the High Street to the Beach. We are more than doffing our caps to the Seaside this year by celebrating with a Fashion Lecture; Riviera Style, Fashions of years past in the exhibition area and the beauty of carriage built prams, many of which come from the Suffolk town itself.
The Festival is delighted to be hosting a joint exhibition with the marvellous creatures that are 1940’s Style for you and the Felixstowe Treasured Coachbuilt Pram group. Take a walk back in time and see glorious prams matched with clothes from the era with these beautiful perambulators – dating back to the Edwardian period.
Entry to the Exhibition is free with a general entry ticket.
